Benno Leeser | Diamond Exchange Amsterdam

A moment of pride: “The old Diamond Exchange is a beautiful building and has now been beautifully restored. A true icon for Amsterdam as a diamond city! Extra special for me, because it is located opposite the former GASSAN building. The golden initials of my grandfather Samuel Gassan, founder of the company, are still clearly visible from the Diamond Exchange. A location of great value.”

Kitty Leeser | Royal Theater Carré Amsterdam 

A moment of connection: The Royal Theater Carré is a place that we Amsterdammers can be very proud of. Opened by Oscar Carré in 1887. The wonderful theater atmosphere is optimal here. From the red plush to the beautiful chandeliers. I have seen many beautiful performances here. My favorite performance by far is the World Christmas Circus. This has been our annual family outing for at least 33 years! Unfortunately not in 2021. The recent stream concert was also great! They deserve our support.

The palace on Dam Square is an icon and the fact that we have GASSAN Dam Square opposite it gives an extra dimension to it.”

A moment of joy: “When I look out over our beautiful Amsterdam from here, I get the feeling that the world is at your feet! The beautiful view gives a feeling of freedom and happiness, which seemed so normal until a year ago, but we now all realize, worldwide, how precious and special this actually is!”

Urban recovery Amsterdam

Amsterdam and its pearls of places must of course remain intact. GASSAN Diamonds has therefore selected a good cause in collaboration with UNESCO: Urban Restoration Amsterdam. This institution was founded in 1956 on a private initiative with the aim of purchasing and restoring buildings that are characteristic of Amsterdam. The institution also maintains these buildings, so that they remain in good condition.
