EXPLORA III Makes Its Debut: What to Expect

EXPLORA III will make its official debut in July 2026, but MASTERS has already received a sneak peek of this new ship. The third flagship of Explora Journeys will be larger, more spacious, and more versatile than her predecessors. From a second Owner's Residence to a renovated wellness center and even a paddle court at sea: here's what you can expect on board…

The launch will begin with a Mediterranean Prelude Journey from July 24 to 29, 2026, from Genoa to Civitavecchia, sailing along the French and Italian Riviera. The naming ceremony will take place in Barcelona on August 1, after which the ship will set sail for Lisbon and later on to Northern Europe, Iceland, and Greenland. 

Living at sea, but in a spacious way

What immediately strikes you on board is the space. The ship is 19,2 meters longer than EXPLORA I and II and boasts 463 suites. This is only two more than on the previous ships, allowing the extra space to be fully utilized for larger decks and public areas. With 19,5 square meters of public space per guest, EXPLORA III is among the most spacious ships in its class. 

The Lobby is the beating heart of the ship and immediately impresses with its height and spaciousness. As soon as you enter, the open space is striking, with an elegant staircase that immediately draws your attention. During the day, you can enjoy a good coffee here, later in the afternoon, tea, and as evening approaches, it transforms into the perfect spot for a cocktail. With a fireplace, a Steinway grand piano, and art on the walls, it feels more like a chic city address than a ship at sea. 

Accommodations: Choose from 313 Ocean Suites, 109 Penthouses, and 39 Ocean Residences, all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and a private terrace. A new addition is a second, 280-square-meter Owner's Residence, designed by Patricia Urquiola. It features a 125-square-meter terrace, a private whirlpool, and a private steam room.

The pool concept has also been expanded. The Conservatory Pool & Bar on deck 11 features a 14,7-meter-long pool under a glass roof that can be opened and closed. There are also three heated outdoor pools, one of which is adults-only, five whirlpools, and sixty private cabanas spread across the decks. 

From silent cinema to padel on the horizon

There's no shortage of food and drink. Well-known names like Anthology, Sakura, Fil Rouge, and Med Yacht Club are back, as is Marble & Co. Grill. Three new spots are also opening. At Shore Club, you can relax by the pool for a long lunch that easily extends into the sunset. The Chef's Table is all about watching, tasting, and being a little surprised. And in The Cellar, you can delve into the world of wine, from unusual grapes to bottles you won't find on every menu. Spread throughout the ship, you'll find twelve bars and lounges, including a Malt Whisky Bar and a new Outdoor Cigar Lounge for those who want to take their time. Wellness and sports are now combined on one deck, which is practical if you want to sweat first and then relax. In the spa, you'll find new treatments and the Sava Sound Pod, a kind of cocoon where sound and vibrations, according to the company, clear your head. The gym features the latest Technogym equipment and you can also do Reform Pilates. Outside, there's a sports field where you can play paddle tennis, pickleball, or basketball, plus a running track with nothing but sea views. It's a bit different from your run in the park...

Chopard makes debut at sea

Retail is also booming. Cartier returns, Rolex remains present, and Chopard makes its debut on board with an exclusive boutique. The Swiss jewelry and watchmaker is opening its first boutique at sea.
