A missing image

The Hall of Fame can be seen in the Dutch Photo Museum in Rotterdam. The images with the accompanying stories allow you as a visitor to look at the world with different eyes. Information is provided for each photo about the background and the reason why it deserves a prominent place in the gallery. The 99 photos translate the development of photography; it shows highlights, but also innovations and steps that the photographers made. All photos have one thing in common: their bond with the Netherlands.

An additional exhibition hall has been added to the Nederlands Fotomuseum to present the exhibition. Each photo hangs in its own size, from small and black and white to meters high in color. One image is left blank. The public can determine this image and the photo that is chosen will complete the Hall of Fame with a total of one hundred photos.

The Commision

A strict selection was made for the photos that deserved a place in the Gallery of Honor. This was determined by a committee consisting of five members: Frits Gierstberg (curator Dutch Photo Museum), Khalid Amakran (photographer), Mattie Boom (curator of photography at the Rijksmuseum), Loes van Harrevelt (Curator of Collections Dutch Photo Museum) and Kevin Osepas (photographer). The photos were selected by this committee on the basis of artistic and social relevance, innovation and polyphony.Umi, Schoonhoven | Meryem SlimaniU2, Santa Cruz, Tenerife 1991 | Anton Corbijn
