A Century on the Move: Montblanc Celebrates 100 Years of Leather Craftsmanship
You would rather not lend out a good pen, and for a special watch you gladly check the time a little more often. At GASSAN, they know this better than anyone. Alongside watches and jewellery, you will also find the world of Montblanc there, the maison that elevated writing to an art form...
This year Montblanc celebrates a century of leather craftsmanship. The story began in the 1920s, when travel became increasingly commonplace thanks to the rise of the automobile. Personal belongings went along on journeys more often, and with that came a need for stylish protection. Montblanc started with small leather accessories and pen cases, and from 1926 onward its leatherwork grew into an important part of the maison.
A century later, the collection is considerably broader. Think of bags, wallets, notebooks and, of course, the signature pen cases. According to Montblanc, these pieces are made not only with an eye for function but are meant to last a long time. After all, good leather is allowed to show that it has seen a bit of the world.

Discover Montblanc at GASSAN
At GASSAN you will find a range of creations from the Montblanc world. The black Sartorial 2-Pen Pouch, for example, points directly back to the origins of the leather story, while the blue Extreme 3.0 document bag shows how that craftsmanship has been translated into everyday life a century later. Leather notebooks and wallets are also part of the collection.
Those who prefer to see the collection up close can visit the Montblanc boutique on P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam or at Schiphol.
