In 2022, the most expensive new car ever was registered in the Netherlands. In June, Dutch roads gained a blue Chiron of more than four million. MASTERS looks at the new year with a fresh look; what are the most expensive cars in the world of 2023?
5. Rolls-Royce Sweptail | € 11.5 milion
This car once held the title of most expensive in the world, but has been beaten by another model of the same brand. This model was made upon request and captured the hearts of many car enthusiasts. The request was to make a car of which there was no second. The Sweptail was made from a single sheet of aluminum and was inspired by a luxury yacht. Despite the ultra-modern features - such as a champagne cooler - the model still has a touch of 1920s glamour.
4. SP Automotive Chaos | 13.7 million
For this price you get a lot of horsepower; This model has more than 3000... In addition, the Chaos consists of precious materials such as titanium, carbon and the strongest fiber available, namely Zylon. The Greek designer couldn't find the car of his dreams, so he said he built it himself. About 15 to 20 models are produced per year.
3. Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta | € 15 milion
This special version was unveiled in honor of founder Haracio Pagani's sixtieth birthday. He thought the model looked like a boat, hence the name Barchetta, which means 'little boat' in Italian. The frame of the car is made entirely of carbon, making the car ultra-light. The car can reach a top speed of 355 kilometers per hour and reaches 3.4 km/h in 100 seconds... Only 3 versions of this unique version of the Zonda were made. The last sale required the new owner € Pay 16.8 million for the car.
2. Bugatti La Voiture Noire | € 16.5 milion
Literally translated: the black car. This model is a modern interpretation of the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic, of which the brand only built four in 1936 and 1938. According to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the car is not a lightning-fast track monster, but a coupe with the comfort of a limousine. Yet the W16 8.10 liter engine with 1500 hp ensures that this Bugatti reaches 2.4 kilometers per hour in 100 seconds... From the black car only one version was made. It is not known who drives the car, but the car has been spotted several times in Switzerland.
1. Rolls-Royce Boat Tail | €28 million
This model is the successor to the aforementioned Sweptail from 2017. A total of three versions of the Boat Tail will be released, two of which have been unveiled so far. This new Rolls-Royce Boat Tail made its world debut last year in the picturesque setting of Lake Como. The car is built entirely by hand, with the body panels made from huge, single aluminum plates to create the distinctive outline inspired by the yachts of the early twentieth century. The unique aft deck is also reminiscent of the world of yachts and is made of the so-called Royal Walnut veneer. A unique property of this material is that the wood matures over time and over the years takes on a cognac color that is identical to the color of the hood. In the rear there are two fold-out panels including a luxury picnic set, a parasol, chairs, crockery and a champagne cooler. The exact price of this version is not known, but it is estimated at €28 million.
