Pink Panther

MaMa Kelly Amsterdam is not only known for its signature dishes of chicken and lobster, including usual suspect Chicken & Lobster To Share, but also for its furnishings: the chairs, the table linen, the napkins, the lamps, the cushions, the floor, the ceiling, the bar: everything is pink. Also the sweet bites and rosé served at MaMa's High Tea. How instagrammable do you want it! And if you point the camera outside, you see the impressive Olympic Stadium within which the restaurant is located. Finally, there is the Panther Room, specially designed for groups: completely in panther motif. A feast for all the senses.

World trip at the table

The building where The Roast Roam used to be located, next to RAI Amsterdam, now houses its second location The Traveler. The concept of The Traveler is the brainchild of Michiel Deenik, chef and owner of the Visaandeschelde restaurant across the street. Together with catering entrepreneur Neal Valentijn and Lisa Bakker, former general manager of Visaandeschelde and The Roast Room, he embarked on the adventure, inspired by their shared passion for travel and the exciting flavors of world cuisine. The Traveler Zuid menu contains a mix of colorful, traditional world dishes, prepared according to modern cooking techniques. From dim sum and flammkuchen to Thai curry and pulpo anticucho. The drinks menu is also one big world trip with beers and wines from all over the world.

Culinary delights in cultural park

The former Machine Building on the Westergasterrein Cantine de Caron. After Café Caron, de Gouden Reaal and Petit Caron, this is the fourth establishment owned by the Caron family, all located in Amsterdam. In this brasserie you can have a quick lunch, for example on the terrace, overlooking the Westerpark; or for an extensive dinner, at one of the tables in this raw monument. Expect recognizable French dishes such as 'ray wing with sauce matelote, oak tenderloin and topinambur' and 'poussin with sauce verte and chicken jus', accompanied by wines from the leading French regions. Just like in the other locations of the Caron family, it's all about good food, good wine and hospitable service.

Artisan toasted sandwiches

During the lockdown, catering trio Guillaume de Beer, Johanneke van Iwaarden and Freek van Noortwijk (owners of the restaurants BREDA, Klein BREDA and Maris Piper and food stand Pita in the Foodhallen) came up with the pop-up concept Paindemic: divine traditional toasted sandwiches based on French bread pain de mie. Such as Pain de Frikandel, Bloedworst Sando (black pudding, iceberg lettuce, caramelized onion, mayonnaise) or the GOAT Burger, which is made from Dutch goat meat to prevent waste. Male goats are 'excess by-products' because they do not produce milk. By choosing this meat, Paindemie contributes to making it popular. The sandwiches sold like hot cakes, and so since the end of January the pop-up has made way for a permanent location on the capital's Kinkerstraat.

High-level food

The old Heuveloord water tower - a unique piece of industrial heritage and a landmark in Utrecht South - has been transformed by owners Menno van de Pol and Norbert Zunnebeld into restaurant. The terrace is at the bottom and on the top two floors you can eat at a high level (lunch, dinner, private dining), with the added bonus of a beautiful view. The sliding doors can be partially opened, which means extra enjoyment when the weather is nice. Also a good place for meetings.
