Ultimate Pentecost getaways
Pentecost falls on the fiftieth day after Easter, this year on May 28 and 29. With these days and good weather in mind, MASTERS has selected a number of special places in the Netherlands for the ultimate getaway. Retreat to a mill or look higher up in a real water tower.
Molen
Want to sleep in one of the most striking tools from the Alblasserwaard? You can't get more Dutch than that. The Jan van Arkel is a flour mill that has been running since 1852 in the small village of Arkel. You wake up here with a view of the Merwede Canal where boats sail past. Hotel rooms are located underneath the mill. The mill was recently renovated, the old elements of the almost 200 year old mill can be recognized everywhere.
Water tower
Want to be sure that you will return rested from a weekend away? Located in Castricum, you can enjoy undisturbed in this Water Tower at a great height. Sustainable materials and high-quality products give the design suite an industrial, modern atmosphere. Lying in a king-size double bed, the windows all around give you a truly breathtaking 360 degree view of the surroundings and you can see the sun setting into the sea. But it is also nice to relax at the foot of the Water Tower. This is where the North Holland Dune Reserve is located, where you can get lost on foot or by bike along the most beautiful paths.
Monastery
Campsite, Glamping and now Champing…Or also called camping in a church. Would you like a night now? Champen, this is excellent in this old monastery in Eindhoven. Hotel Mariënhage is built on the historic foundations of the Mariënhage monastery, but has all the modern amenities you could wish for.
