The busy traffic around Paris's most famous monument, the Champs-Elyseés, must make way for flora and fauna. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo plans to spend €300 million on greening the Champs-Elyseés. The plans have been on the table for some time, but the project will start in three years. The overcrowded busy roads will be replaced with many, many trees. The long road to the Champs-Elyseés will be transformed into an extraordinary garden, which will be a place of experience and enjoyment. Underground tunnels will be constructed to reduce traffic and cars by half. More pedestrians, more green areas and more greenery: Paris becomes a fairytale.
