Inside a spacious €10 million home
A 17 hectare estate with its own polder, just a stone's throw from the North Sea beach – sounds tempting, doesn't it? Good news: you can get your hands on it. At least, if you still have a mere €10 million under the mattress. MASTERS takes a look at the spacious home.
About 35 years ago, architect Matthijs Zeelenberg decided to build Preekhil Estate, located in Ouddorp in South Holland, for himself. It is clear that he used it as a canvas for his creativity for 35 years. The whole fits seamlessly with its surroundings.
The 17 hectare NSW estate contains its own polder, the Preekhilpolder. This borders the Grevelingenmeer near the Brouwersdam and the North Sea. Nice extra; the NSW certification was once created to ensure that natural beauty continues to exist. This can provide interesting tax benefits for owners of these types of estates.
Two tower rooms
The big question that is of course on everyone's lips now: what do you actually get for that €10 million? The modern cottage has a lot to offer: several living and sitting areas, six bedrooms, four bathrooms, two tower rooms, a utility room, several garages for an extensive fleet and a cellar under the entire house. There are also several barns and for animal lovers also some horse stables. Thanks to six heat pumps and 270 solar panels in the orchard, the country house is also energy neutral. Still nice in the current spirit of the times...
