This weekend spring really seems to be coming and it doesn't sound strange if the temperature in our country reaches 17 degrees. What to do? Go to the terrace and enjoy. Where to go? Amsterdam for example. These are the best terraces in the city.
1. Caffè Pico
In the middle of one of the most pleasant districts of Amsterdam - de Pijp - is the spacious terrace of Caffè Pico. With Italian dishes on the menu, tasty cocktails and a vibrant environment where there is plenty to see, it is terraced until the late hours.
2. Auberge
Just a stone's throw from Caffè Pico lies the restaurant of star chefs Richard van Oostenbrugge & Thomas Groot, Auberge cuisine Française. With classic French culinary masterpieces and a French interior, you'll feel like you're in Paris, but then just in Amsterdam.
3.Ode to the Amstel
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city? Ode to the Amstel it is. A daily changing Chef's Menu, an all day dining menu full of beautiful classics with a surprising twist and of course a wonderful stay at the Amstel. Sun, sunglasses on and enjoy.
4. Café Wildschut
One of the first grand cafés in Amsterdam also has a terrace where the sun shines from early in the morning until late at night. Sounds perfect, right? The bustling terrace in the heart of Amsterdam Oud-Zuid has been a household name among Amsterdammers for decades for breakfast, lunch, dinner and to have a nice drink.
5. Jondani Downtown
This brand new terrace on Amsterdam's Beethovenstraat offers everything for a perfect gathering with good company in the open air: a menu full of international flavors with a focus on French and subtle Asian cuisine, delicious wines and high-level service.
6. StrandZuid
This terrace will keep its doors closed for a while, but still worth mentioning as one of the hotspots. The terrace will open on April 4 and will bring the beach vibes to Amsterdam again this year.
7. Louie Louie
The restaurant in the bustling part of Amsterdam East combines a menu of South American and Eastern flavors and is perfect for an afternoon of fun. In the afternoon in the sun and in the evening crawl under the heater. You are here all day under the pans.
8. Nela
At Nela it feels like you are in New York, but nothing could be further from the truth. The terrace overlooks the Zuidas and is located on the second floor of the impressive residential complex The Valley. Chefs Hari Shetty and Ori Geller worked for years in the kitchen of top restaurants such as Nobu London, Izakaya, The Duchess and Mr. Porter in Amsterdam and now serve culinary delights at Nela.
9. The Ladies
Within walking distance of the Vondelpark and Museumplein, Brasserie de Joffers shines. On the always so pleasantly busy terrace in the bustling Cornelis Schuytstraat there is always something to see. For breakfast, lunch, dinner and a cozy drink an excellent place to spend the day.
10. Morgan & Mees
The terrace of Morgan & Mees borders the busy Hugo de Grootstraat, but you can hardly notice that on the terrace. The stately building once served as an orphanage, but now welcomes guests in the restaurant, terrace and hotel. The menu includes oysters, còte de boef and mussels and fine wines.
11. PARK Cafe-Restaurant
The hide-away, part of the four-star Hotel Arena, in the Oosterpark is perfect for a day of work, lunch, dinner or drinks. Just like being in the park itself, but then comfortably and with a good glass and delicious Mediterranean and Classic dishes.
12. Garden Terrace
Need some more peace and quiet? Behind the Hilton hotel is the Garden Terrace, a hidden gem in the Apollolaan. On the water you can enjoy signature cocktails, fresh dishes and passing boats.
