Balenciaga has once again stirred up dust in the fashion world. The Spanish fashion house unveiled its latest design: a bag shaped like a bag of Lay's chips. And that comes with quite a price tag....
Balenciaga is no stranger to presenting fashion items that raise many an eyebrow. Last year, a pair of sneakers were added to the collection that looked like they had lasted an entire festival season. If you wanted to get your hands on a pair of "new" sneakers, you quickly had to put down €1,750.
Now the brand is taking it a step further by launching a handbag in the form of a bag of Lay's potato chips. Again, this comes with quite a price tag of a whopping €3,000. This is an estimate, by the way, since the official price has not yet been announced. But when looking at other bags, this amount will not be far off. 'A bag of chips is not just to be emptied in one gulp before your favorite Netflix movie,' the brand must have thought. Probably the designers had a lot of fun during the process and the inspiration during the session is obvious.
The Potato Chip Bag, as the bag is called, was presented during Paris Fashion Week, where Balenciaga unveiled its spring and summer 2023 collection. It is safe to say that this item was the standout during this show. The calf leather bag is unisex, so it can be worn by both men and women.
