ART BY FEZ lifts the veil on her most precious creation

At MASTERS EXPO, award-winning artist Fezila William presents her latest and most valuable creation: Opulent Implosion. Using materials such as 24-carat gold leaf, platinum, diamonds, gemstones, gold thread and vintage silk, her art tells a story of human splendor and sustainability. What is your favorite museum and why?

''My favorite museum is the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The intense emotion and expression in Van Gogh's work touches me deeply. The Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna also has a special place for me.''

What book has made a big impression on you recently?

''Kafka on the Beach by Haruki Murakami. The layers and mystery in his stories continue to fascinate me.''

Do you have a favorite movie that you would recommend to everyone?

"I would The Green Mile by Stephen King for its moving humanity and powerful message of compassion and hope.''

What is your favorite hotel and what makes it so unique?

''My favorite hotel is Hotel TwentySeven in Amsterdam. The opulent luxury, attention to detail and artistic atmosphere make it a unique experience.''

What is your favorite travel destination and what is the hidden gem here that tourists often miss?

''My favorite travel destination is Tokyo, Japan. A hidden gem that tourists often miss is the Todoroki Valley; a green oasis in the middle of the city.''

Which artist inspires you the most?

''Gustav Klimt inspires me the most. His symbolism, the use of gold, his decorative style and the emotional depth appeal to my imagination enormously.''

Who is your favorite artist and how does this music influence your daily life?

''Just as the weather in the Netherlands changes, so does my preference for music. I can enjoy all kinds of music, depending on my mood.''

What is your favorite restaurant and what dish would you recommend there?

''Bougainville is my favorite restaurant, not only because of the view of Dam Square, but also because my new series Opulent Euphoria there hangs.'' 

What is your favorite store and what do you buy there?

''I love L. Cornelissen & Son in London, which I consider a paradise for any artist. GASSAN is also one of my favorites, where I buy materials for my artwork. The shine of diamonds never ceases to enchant me, just like the first time I saw them.''
