All aboard! Amsterdam gets its own restaurant tram

Amsterdam is getting a new culinary attraction, and not just any old one. Hop on, pull up a chair and be pampered aboard the AmsterTram – a mobile restaurant with a view of the capital…

The iconic Amsterdam tram has undergone a tasty metamorphosis. Instead of commuters and tourists, the AmsterTram will soon be driving through the city full of bon vivants who are queuing up for a five-course dinner with matching wines. And no, no plastic cups or fluorescent lighting: think linen tablecloths, atmospheric lighting and the charm of fine dining on wheels.

You can reserve a table for two or four people, or – if you are with a larger group – even rent half or a whole tram. The route takes you through the most beautiful of Mokum, while you put your fork in a parade of flavors.

Unique? Definitely. There are only four other mobile restaurants in the world (think: Brussels, Milan, Christchurch and The Hague). Thanks to a collaboration between the Stichting Museumtramlijn Amsterdam and Suzanne Knegt – known for the RotterTram – this idea has now become a reality in our capital. The AmsterTram, a refurbished 12G tram from 1990, was taken in hand with the lessons of Rotterdam in mind. Result: an even more beautiful, comfortable and tasty version…

The first ride leaves on June 6. Want to join us? Reservations are possible here on the website.
