Image: VINVIN WinesIt has been the talk of the town for months: the metaverse. This was prompted by the news that Facebook's frontman Mark Zuckerberg announced in July 2021 that he wanted to turn his social media company into a metaverse company in the next five years.

“You can actually see the metaverse as the new phase of the internet,” says Marcel Just de la Paisières of VINVIN Wines. “The two-dimensional and flat internet will change to a three-dimensional, spatial form in the coming years. The metaverse plays out synchronously on and offline in real time for everyone. Think of it as a virtual meeting place. At the moment, the metaverse is still an unknown world for many – a far-away show. Although the optimization of this may take more than ten years, we are already taking the first steps. Now that the technical and cultural foundations are being laid, VINVIN Wines will dive on Monday, February 14 as very first in the world in our world in the brand new metaverse.”

Marcel Just de la Paisières: “The first steps we are going to take in our metaverse include unique launches of exclusive champagnes and wines from top wineries. We first offer the products exclusively in the virtual world. Wine lovers will then also be offered these via our webshop and/or partners. But it doesn't stop there: we also offer virtual master classes, offer advice from our wine specialist several times a week and give our partners a stage. Think of a virtual gallery where the work of different artists such as Pablo Lucker (MASTERS EXPO exhibitor, ed.) from Amsterdam or the Rotterdammers Roderik Faasen, Hans Kleinjan and Maikel Kleinjan from AAAFRESH123 (MASTERS EXPO exhibitor, ed.) is on display and available for purchase.
