Millions on Wheels: Five Supercars Head to Auction in Zurich

Ferrari, Pagani, Mercedes-AMG and Lamborghini converge in Zurich this week. Not for an annual automotive spectacle, but for a carefully curated auction by RM Sotheby's. On Saturday, 26 September, just eighteen collector cars will go under the hammer at Park Hyatt Zurich. Five of them alone represent an estimated combined value of approximately €11.7 to €13.4 million.

Zürich proved fertile ground for exceptional cars last year. In October 2025, RM Sotheby's brought the Tailored for Speed Collection to auction there: 42 supercars, hypercars and race cars from a single collection. All 42 cars sold, generating total proceeds of approximately €75 million. It was RM Sotheby's most valuable European auction at that time. The Ferrari Daytona SP3 was the top lot at approximately €5.7 million.

RM Sotheby's return to Zürich this year takes a different approach. This is not an annual car event in the city, but an auction organised by RM Sotheby's. This time, instead of a large collection from one owner, a compact selection of eighteen exceptional cars. MASTERS highlights the five standout pieces of this edition.

1.  Ferrari F40 – estimated at approximately €3.4 to €3.7 million

The 1991 example was delivered new in Switzerland and retains its original V8 engine and gearbox. The car is also certified by Ferrari Classiche. The F40 is expected to be one of the most valuable lots at auction.

2.  Pagani Huayra Roadster – estimated at approximately €2.7 to €3.2 million

Only one hundred Huayra Roadsters were built worldwide. The car offered in Zürich dates from 2020, has had one owner and has covered just 592 kilometres.

3.  Mercedes-AMG ONE – estimated at approximately €2.4 to €2.7 million

Formula 1 technology for the road: the AMG ONE features a hybrid 1.6-litre V6 whose technology is derived from Mercedes' Formula 1 race cars. This 2024 example has just 506 kilometres on the clock.

4.  Ferrari 812 Competizione A – estimated at approximately €1.7 to €2.1 million

Only 599 examples of the open 812 Competizione A were produced. The Zürich example is finished in Blu Elettrico, has had one owner and showed 1,576 kilometres at cataloguing. Under the bonnet sits a 6.5-litre V12, one of Ferrari's last large twelve-cylinder engines.

5.  Lamborghini Miura P400 S – estimated at approximately €1.5 to €1.7 million

Among all the modern power sits an Italian classic from 1969. Only 338 Miura P400 S examples were built. This car retains its matching-numbers V12 and once belonged to former Ferrari Formula 1 driver René Arnoux.

Whether Zürich will come close to last year's nearly €75 million is not directly comparable. The auction is considerably smaller this time and differently composed. Yet RM Sotheby's return shows that Zürich is once again a platform for the highest segment of the international collector car market. On 26 September 2026, it will become clear what proceeds the eighteen cars actually generate.
