DiCaprio's corduroy trousers go under the hammer for a substantial sum

Leonardo DiCaprio, known for his iconic role as Jack Dawson in Titanic, is causing a stir in the auction world of film memorabilia. A costume worn by the 48-year-old actor during the production of the blockbuster will go under the hammer next month. For the ultimate fans: you will have to dig deep into your pockets...

The garment is part of a larger auction by London's Propstore. From November 9 to 12 they will auction more than 1800 unique and original items from the history of television and film. Michael Keaton's Batman suit, Johnny Depp's outfit and Tom Hanks' sneakers will also go under the hammer. One of the highlights is a luminous head from Star Wars. This is expected to generate around €1 million. 

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio's auction item includes tan corduroy trousers with suspenders, a white collarless shirt and a black vest. A label on the inside of the vest reads 'Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio' with the date August '96 and reveals the name of the tailor, Dominic Gherardi. 

Most expensive movie ever

With a budget of almost €200 million at the time, Titanic was the most expensive film ever made at the time of its release. Adjusted for inflation, the blockbuster ultimately grossed €3.1 billion. He also won no fewer than eleven Oscars. 

Collectors and fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to get their hands on this piece of film history. DiCaprio's costume is expected to fetch an impressive sum of €110.000 to €220.000.
