From rally to fairway: how sport takes centre stage at Regnum

At Regnum Carya and Regnum The Crown in Belek, sport rarely stays confined to a single match. Golf, tennis, padel, football and beach volleyball are woven into resort life. Those who assume the final fairway must be played before sunset have not reckoned with the floodlights. Time for one last swing? Or perhaps two?

Golf plays an important role within Regnum. Carya Golf Club and National Golf Club together form two distinct golf environments in Belek. Carya Golf Club has eighteen holes and is Europe's first fully lit golf course. This allows play to continue after sunset.

The course was designed by Peter Thomson and his team. National Golf Club opened in 1994 as Belek's first golf club. Evening play is also possible here, thanks to lighting on the final nine holes. Both courses have previously hosted the Turkish Airlines Open, establishing their place within professional golf circles.

Tennis and padel

Racket sports also hold a prominent place. Regnum has seven tennis courts, divided between clay, hardcourt and artificial grass. There are also four double padel courts and one single court.

Padel in particular fits within the broader development where sport increasingly becomes part of hospitality and lifestyle. The social character of the sport plays just as significant a role as the competitive element.

From football pitch to beach

The sports infrastructure extends beyond golf and racket sports. Within the complex are two lit football pitches to FIFA standards and an artificial grass field. Through the Real Madrid Foundation Clinic Antalya, children aged six to sixteen can train under the guidance of professional coaches.

There are also opportunities for basketball and beach volleyball. With the latter sport especially, the location on the Mediterranean naturally provides a different setting than a typical sports hall. Sand underfoot, sea in the background, but the ball still has to go over the net.
