less is more
For those looking for their next yacht, a catamaran is a good choice. In recent years, solar-electric catamarans have been widely purchased. This is because many people were looking for more environmentally friendly ways to explore the world.
This concept, by ship designer Samuele Errico Piccarini at Italdesign Giugiaro, is just that. But with an extra layer of luxury combined with a 'less is more' design.
Sailing into the horizon
The best advantage of this 21,3 meter catamaran is without a doubt the transparent hull. In the renderings you'll see a master bedroom in one side hull and the master suite in the other.
Directly next to the guest room is the dining room and there is a sun deck at the back, a lounge under the fly deck, but that can also be used as a sauna. In keeping with the owner's mixed cultural heritage, there is another small lounge with real sand, stones and vegetation.
Last but not least, this is a sailing catamaran. This frees up space that would otherwise have to be used for solar panels and makes them silent and emission-free. Like most sailing ships already in use, these would also have generators as a backup.
