Memphis Depay – With both legs

Dutch documentary and filmmaker Jessica Villerius followed football player Memphis Depay last year during his rehabilitation after a serious injury. On December 16, 2019, Depay experienced his absolute nightmare when he tore his cruciate ligaments during a match against Rennes. The film shows the world of Memphis, often only a small part of which is visible to the outside world; fear, happiness, criticism, dreams, racism, pain, wealth, music and his brother in the TBS clinic. In the documentary nothing remains undiscussed or unseen.

Barca Dreams

This is surely the most complete documentary ever made about it FC Barcelona. This documentary offers a unique look into the dressing rooms and behind the scenes of one of the world's most important football clubs. The struggle in Spain under dictator Franco, the origins of El Clásico and the fiery rivalry with Real Madrid are all discussed. Furthermore, the visionary innovations of player and later coach Johan Cruijff are also highlighted. The documentary also shows how the club has developed and earned their recognition and fame. FC Barcelona's credo 'Més que un club' (more than a club) becomes clearer than ever after watching this documentary.

Ajax Doc | The legacy of Johan Cruyff

Of course we all know the legendary documentary And a momento dado. An award-winning documentary about the life of Cruijff during his time at FC Barcelona. This can be viewed here 2doc. However, Ajax recently released a new Ajax Doc about the legacy of Johan Cruijff in the football world. Trainers such as Arrigo Sacchi and Arsène Wenger describe the influence the player and trainer have had on football in recent decades. Writer David Winner, historian Hubert Smeets and Taco Dibbits, director of the Rijksmuseum, also put the influence of the icon in a cultural-historical perspective.

Other Times Sports | The night of the European Championships

Andere Tijden Sport delved into its own archive for a two-hour marathon broadcast full of iconic football fragments, from the Oranje European Championship in 1988 to the defeat of '76, Tom Egbers discusses all the highs and lows of past tournaments with various guests. He talks to Kees Jansma, Khalid Boulahrouz and ESPN presenter Fresia Cousiño, among others. A perfect documentary to bring back old memories and think back to the legendary moment of '88...
