Perhaps the best hotel in the world… without a location

Perhaps the world's most impressive hotel isn't located on a Monaco boulevard or a Tuscan hill. Perhaps it's simply floating in the middle of the sea. With a striking new campaign, Explora Journeys poses an intriguing question: what if the ultimate hotel has no address at all?

In New York, Explora Journeys, the MSC Group's luxury ocean travel brand, unveiled a new global campaign that completely shakes up the traditional idea of a cruise. Instead of portraying a ship as a means of transport between destinations, the brand positions its ships as five-star hotels that move. And that completely changes the way you think about ocean travel.

The campaign, developed by McCann Paris and directed by award-winning filmmaker Jonas Lindstroem, feels more like a short art film than a classic travel ad. With playful imagery and a series of provocative "maybes," Explora Journeys invites you to rethink luxury travel.

Ocean State of Mind

According to Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys, it's all about a new way of thinking about luxury. The ocean is no longer just a route between destinations, but becomes the destination itself. Peace, space, and a sense of discovery are central. The brand calls this the "Ocean State of Mind," a philosophy in which travel isn't just about where you're going, but rather about how you feel along the way.

This vision is also reflected in the ships themselves. Think suites with panoramic windows and private terraces, multiple gourmet restaurants, extensive wellness facilities, and spacious decks where you can almost feel the sea.

With two ships currently in service and a fleet set to grow to six by 2028, Explora Journeys seems serious about setting a new standard in luxury travel. Or, as the campaign subtly suggests: perhaps the world's best hotel isn't on land at all. Perhaps it's simply sailing past on the horizon.
