Kim Kardashian buys Princess Diana's jewel

After Marilyn Monroe, Kim Kardashian seems to have found a new style example. Last year, the reality star and businesswoman borrowed the dress of none other than Marilyn Monroe for the Met Gala. Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress was even removed from the Ripley's museum especially for this occasion.

We will probably see Kardashian soon with another piece of history. The jewel in question is an Attallah cross, made in 1920 by court jeweler Garrard. It was reportedly one of Princess Diana's favorite pieces. For example, she wore it in 1987 during a charity gala birthright. After her death, the piece was never seen in public again. Gerrard's creations were popular with the princess; her oval sapphire engagement ring from 1981 was also from this jeweler. 

Friendship 

Diana's items very rarely come onto the market. According to Sotheby's, the sale is very special in itself, especially because it is now a very striking jewel. But although Lady d wore the necklace, it wasn't officially hers. The cross was purchased by Naim Attallah in the 80s. Due to his friendship with her, he loaned the cross several times. His relatives now decided to auction the special piece.

And at an auction, the highest bid simply applies. And it came from none other than Kim Kardashian. She paid €187.000 for the royal gem. About double the pre-estimated value.
