At first glance, an elegant bag, but those who look closer will see the detail. A subtle reference to the famous Birkin, translated into a contemporary version.
Behind these designs? NaomiHev, a Dutch atelier that works with existing materials. Each item starts with an original vintage designer piece, such as a bag or suitcase, which is carefully selected and taken apart by hand. The materials then form the basis for a new design.
“For me, every design begins with respect for what is already there,” says founder Naomi. “The challenge lies in finding a new form without losing the character of the original piece.”
Canvas and leather thus acquire a different silhouette, while their origin remains visible. By playing with cut lines and textures, a balance between old and new is created. No single piece is the same, simply because each material carries its own history.
For the Leading Ladies Lunch, this approach and attention to detail were translated into 150 goodie bags, all handmade in the atelier. “We deliberately work on a small scale and on a made-to-order basis,” says Naomi. “That ensures that every item remains truly connected to the person wearing it.”

During the Leading Ladies Lunch at MASTERS EXPO, NaomiHev designed handmade bags for 150 women that went anything but unnoticed.
