These entrepreneurs follow in their mother's footsteps
From Aerin Lauder to Miuccia Prada: these entrepreneurs followed in their mothers' footsteps and built successful brands.
Mother's Day is the perfect moment to pause and reflect on the women who have shaped you. And in some cases, that influence goes much further than wise lessons or good taste. These entrepreneurs grew up with a mother who not only inspired them but also laid the foundation for a career…
Aerin Lauder
As the granddaughter of Estée Lauder, Aerin Lauder grew up within one of the most influential beauty families in the world. Her grandmother built the brand from a small cosmetics company in New York into an international empire, and that world shaped Aerin from a young age as well.
In the early nineties, she started working within the family business, where she is still active as a style and image director. In 2012, she also launched her own brand, AERIN, through which she develops perfumes, beauty products, home accessories, and interior collections.
The brand's style feels very personal: elegant, classic, and clearly inspired by its own taste. By now, AERIN is available in luxury stores worldwide, and Aerin has become much more than just 'the granddaughter of'.
Norvina Soare
Anastasia Beverly Hills started out as the eyebrow studio of Anastasia Soare, who quickly grew into a major name in the beauty world. Her daughter Norvina witnessed the company up close and worked within the brand from a young age.
From the salon floor to product development, she got to know the company step by step. When Norvina started focusing more on the creative side, the brand also took on a different look. More colorful, faster, and much more aimed at a young audience.
She foresaw early on how important social media would become for the beauty world and capitalized on it smartly. Through Instagram, she managed to make Anastasia Beverly Hills a hit with an entirely new generation of beauty enthusiasts. Today, she puts her own stamp on the brand with her own Norvina collections.

Miuccia Prada
Miuccia Prada grew up within the Prada family business, which her mother Luisa Prada continued for many years after it was originally founded by her grandfather. While her mother kept the brand afloat and guarded the foundations, Miuccia soon looked beyond just the traditional side of the fashion house.
When she took over the company in the 1970s, she chose a completely different direction. Under her leadership, Prada acquired a more modern and much more distinctive look. Her collections felt stylish, but also unexpected and sometimes even a tad quirky.
It is precisely that combination that resonates. Miuccia manages to turn Prada into one of the most influential fashion houses in the world, without losing the family feel behind the brand. In doing so, she not only builds upon her mother's work but also passes it on to an entirely new generation.

Her mother, Silvia Venturini Fendi, stood at the creative foundation of the Italian fashion house for many years and introduced Delfina to that world at an early age.
However, Delfina does not choose the easiest path within the family business. First, she launches her own jewelry line, immediately standing out with her distinctive and artistic style. Later, she also becomes increasingly involved with Fendi itself.
What makes her interesting is that she clearly follows her own taste, while the influence of her mother remains visible.
