Playing your first NBA game is one thing. But when the jersey you wear that night immediately breaks a record at an auction house, you know something special is happening. Cooper Flagg has only just stepped onto the court, and yet he's already making history off the court.

The "Classic Edition" home jersey that Flagg wore on October 26, 2025, during the Dallas Mavericks' game against the Toronto Raptors has been privately sold through Sotheby's for a whopping $1 million. This makes it not only the most expensive Flagg item ever sold, but also the most valuable NBA jersey sold through Sotheby's NBA Auctions. The jersey in question is the one he wore during the first half of his first NBA victory and the first game in which he scored more than twenty points.

In only his third NBA game, Flagg showed why he was the first-choice pick in the 2025 draft. Against the Raptors, he scored 22 points and connected on 57 percent of his shots. He also recovered four shots on missed shots, either by his own or his own team, made four decisive passes that led to goals, and blocked one shot. Perhaps even more impressive: he didn't lose a single possession. This made him, at 18 years old, only the second player in the NBA to score 20+ points in a game without losing a single possession. The other name on that list is Kobe Bryant.

Cooper Flagg became the 2nd player in NBA history at 18 years or younger to record a game with 20+ PTS and 0 TOs in tonight's win vs. TOR 🤯

Youngest player ever

Flagg is the youngest player in the league and is already rewriting the record books. He became the youngest player ever to score 40 points in a game, broke the teen record with 49 points, and is rapidly racking up double-doubles and 25+ game points. At 17, he attracted worldwide attention with his mature play during scrimmages against Team USA. The fact that his very first regular season shirt is already changing hands for a seven-figure sum speaks volumes about his confidence in his future…
