Amsterdam 750 Tour | Rijksmuseum

750 years of Amsterdam history in one hour. The Rijksmuseum offers a specially composed tour in which you walk through the history of Amsterdam. Through iconic paintings, old maps and historical objects you will learn everything about the rise of this special city and its influence on the world. 

When? From October 27, 2024 to October 26, 2025.

Amsterdam through the eyes of international filmmakers | Eye Filmmuseum

At the Eye Filmmuseum you will discover Amsterdam through the eyes of international filmmakers. From classics to modern films, all inspired by the city. On December 4, actor Gijs Naber will take you on a special look at how Amsterdam appears on the silver screen worldwide.

When? Wednesday, December 4th.

All those Amsterdam people – 70s-90s | Amsterdam City Archives 

This exhibition takes you to Amsterdam in the 70s, 80s and 90s. With photos and interviews you get a special view of the lives of Amsterdammers from that time. Stories about post-colonial migration, urban renewal, housing protests, economic crises and equal rights come to life…

When? From October 4th to January 3rd, 2025. 

The Sculpture Garden | Municipal Museum

The Stedelijk is giving Amsterdam a special birthday present: a freely accessible sculpture garden at the entrance to the museum. Here you will find modern artworks by Dutch and international artists, brought together in the hall. On November 16, the opening will be celebrated with a festive open day. 

When? Saturday, November 16th.

From November 28, 2024 to January 19, 2025, Amsterdam will transform into a magical city of light. The thirteenth edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival celebrates the theme “Rituals” with 27 works of art that illuminate the iconic canals and streets, creating an atmospheric oasis for residents and visitors. Artists from all over the world will share their vision on the theme.
