5x camping in style

Tomorrow the sun will describe its highest arc in the sky, officially heralding summer with the longest day of the year. Would you like to camp in nature this summer, but experience the luxury of a hotel? Perhaps it is glamping or an idea... MASTERS highlights the 5 most beautiful glamping sites. Text: Fleur de Jong

1. Tree hotel

Gaze out at the spectacular nature of Sweden from the separate, unique, secluded and above all comfortable rooms in the trees of Treehotel. For example, in the middle of the Swedish forests lies the Mirrorcube hidden. Designed by architects Bolle Tham and Martin Videgård. Excellent for literally making you invisible and retreating into nature. The cube is surrounded by mirror walls so that the 4x4x4 meter space completely blends in with the surroundings. The first house is 500 meters away and the cube is 12 meters high. So you have to climb the rope ladder a bit to reach your king-size bed. There is room for two people in the cube; there is a balcony, a toilet, seats and a sustainable water system to wash your hands. New from Treehotel is its crown jewel Biosphere.

2. Canonici Di San Marco

The Italian lodges are just 20 minutes away from Venice Canonici di San Marco. This exclusive resort offers an oasis of peace where you can surround yourself with nature, without giving up comfort. This very first glamping site in Italy was designed with a passion for nature, a refined interior, but an unconventional love for travel. The cupboards, the inlaid headboard of the bed and the wooden fossilized sink made of 10.000 year old natural wood are central to the lodge. You wake up with a view over the private garden where the mulberry trees in the centuries-old orchard offer a breathtaking view.

3. Longitude 131˚

Overlooking Uluru and in the middle of the Australian desert lies Longitude 131˚. The camp in the middle of the wilderness consists of sixteen luxury tents, each offering a glamorous base. The custom-made furniture in the tents is designed by Australian designers, supplemented with works by local and indigenous artists. Through the large windows at the end of the bed you can enjoy all the beauty of the outback and the view of one of Australia's most famous sights; the Uluru. The southern skies with cool, clear nights and the absence of light from nearby cities make for a stargazer's paradise. And although you might expect it to be in the middle of the desert, the camp offers a spa and you can enjoy a culinary dinner under the starry sky.

4. Sendat Glamping Tents

This campsite is located in Bali near the center of Ubud. Here you can fully immerse yourself in the richness of Indonesian culture; enjoy the streets full of small craft shops or bars with live music. At the end of the day you can return to the peace and quiet of the campsite and, for example, take a yoga class in one of the many yoga centers on the island.

5. Under Canvas

These luxurious tents are located in the Grand Canyon in Arizona and basically contain everything a hotel room contains; a bathroom with bath, a toilet and a living room. Guests don't have to worry about packing a lot, because this campsite even has its own shop, 24/7 coffee and a restaurant.
