Weekend with a stylish edge? Piet Paris settles in Rosewood

If you've never been to Rosewood Amsterdam, this exhibition offers the perfect excuse. This weekend, you can experience the creative magic of fashion illustrator Piet Paris up close in the heart of Amsterdam.

Housed in the former Palace of Justice, Rosewood Amsterdam combines historic allure with modern comfort. With interiors by Studio Piet Boon, a lavish spa, and views over Amsterdam's rooftops, it's the kind of place where you can easily linger.

But Rosewood is more than just a place to sleep or relax. The Gallery, a cultural space within the hotel, offers monthly changing exhibitions and collaborations with artists, fashion houses, and creative partners. After previous projects with Porsche and artist Frankey, Piet Paris is now temporarily taking over the space.

Fashion illustrator Piet Paris is working as a Artist-in-Residence in The Gallery. Under the title The Dress, the Drawing & the Draftsman The space transforms into an open studio. Visitors can watch him work live as he captures designs by top Dutch designers like Iris van Herpen, Claes Iversen, David Laport, and Viktor&Rolf.

 

“It all starts with a dress”

Piet Paris's graphic and elegant style has been a fixture in the Dutch fashion world for years. But seeing him at work truly reveals his keen eye for pose, line, and movement. His drawings are accompanied by original couture pieces—the dresses that inspire him—which change throughout the month. "It all starts with a dress," says Paris. "Without a dress, there's no Piet Paris. My work is about capturing the movement, the pose, the soul of a design in line and form."

Paris created a limited edition illustration for Rosewood Amsterdam especially for this collaboration: only 50 numbered and signed copies are available for those who want to take something tangible home with them.
