BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE, CRAZY ON THE INSIDE

You could say 2020 has been a pretty weird time, but nothing compares to these surreal houses that hit the market last year. From a beautiful villa decorated with Star Trek memorabilia to an ordinary-looking house that is only purple inside, MASTERS collects some beautiful but crazy houses.Online Editor: Natasha Hendriks

From the outside, the 19,972-square-foot home offers a dreamy atmosphere, but on the inside it is a different story. This home is located in the city of Boca Raton, Florida. Built to withstand a category five hurricane, the unique home was built in 2005 by American financier and entrepreneur Marc Bell. The mansion is themed after the television show Star Trek: The Next Generation. Marc Bell spent more than $825,000 on Trekkie memorabilia, space age furniture and Star Wars collectibles.

This unique weatherproof property benefits from an unusual yet tranquil interior. Covering a whopping 2,500 square feet, there are no windows in the house, yet every room is filled with light. The cave house features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a stone kitchen, a tropical-themed bathroom, a laundry room, an office, a dining area and a spiral staircase that leads to a cozy loft bedroom. Outside, there are numerous natural hot tubs built into the rock wall - the perfect place to enjoy the scenery.

The Beverley Hills villa belonged to American television personality Dr. Phil, but it was his son, Jordan McGraw, who made sure the property got its unusual decor. A cross between scenes from Alice in Wonderland and a slasher movie, the unusual property is decorated from floor to ceiling with fake guns, clashing colors, teddy bears and artwork with curse words. The villa was remarkably sold for the asking price, €4.8 million, in just over four weeks.

The Purple House

Last in our list of crazy houses, this property in Hillingdon, United Kingdom looks normal from the outside, but once you step inside the front door, it's a whole new experience. The previous owners decorated the entire inside of the house purple, leaving no room without the color. Not only did the floors and walls get the color, even the decor and bathroom is purple! All, if you love the color purple as much as these people do, this could have been yours for €725,000.Curious about the most bizarre houses in the world? Then click here.
