Unseen, photography worthy of the name

No plans this coming weekend yet? FromSeptember 17 to 19, the Westergasterrein, Amsterdam will be the site of photography exhibition Unseen. Not only will renowned names like Erwin Olaf, Ruud van Empel and Bertien van Manen make an appearance, but there is also room for young, up-and-coming talent. No less than 65 galleries will present their work, so put yourself between the pictures!Text: Patrick StofferIn addition to work by such masters of photography as Bertien van Manen, Erwin Olaf and Ruud van Empel, works by Jan Hoek and Melanie Bonajo, among others, will also be presented. On the international front, there will be work by established names such as Valerie Belin and Isaac Julien, as well as upcoming luminaries such as Antony Cairns and Hassan Hajjaj. New talents are also making an appearance.

For the first time, visitors will be introduced to two brand new sections: Past/Present and Unbound. These sections will look at the origins of photography and beyond the horizon. In addition, this will also be the first year in which Unseen will allow vintage work from before the year 2000.

Unseen Amsterdam was visited by a whopping 25,000 people last year and will again showcase the latest developments and best works this year. From September 17 to 19, Unseen will take place at the Westergasterrein. More information and tickets can be found here.
