Tropical haven with hefty price tag

The tropical retreat of American illusionist David Copperfield is the most expensive Airbnb right now. And although it is one of the most remote places, you certainly won't be short of anything here. MASTERS takes a closer look at the magical place.

''A private sun warming your face and private waves lapping against your feet. A private moon illuminating your plate and surrounded by private seas.'' So reads the website's description of the island of Musha Cay. And basically, nothing lied about that. Now should you want to dig a little deeper for a privacy-rich spot on Airbnb; you can stay on the island for the equivalent of €55,000 per night.

Musha Cay, located in the southern Bahamas, was purchased by David Copperfield in 2006 for converted €46.1 million, according to Forbes. With a total of 700 acres, five homes are included in the residence. In all, there are 12 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and - nice touch - each residence has its own private pool.

Private Chef

Before arrival, guests are asked to provide their food preferences. Because shopping for groceries is out of the question on the private island. So the included private chef can come in handy. For a small extra charge, however, a sommelier can also be arranged. Of course, choosing a perfect wine from the over 500 bottles in the wine cellar can also be tricky....

Besides the private chef, the island actually contains all the other amenities you need for a tropical getaway. You have access to tennis courts, massage rooms, a spa, a gym, sun beds, and a paddle board. In the so-called ''Landing'' you can gather with your fellow travelers to watch the sunset, play billiards or have a drink at the bar.
