They are far from finished: THE CAPTAINS LUNCH 2021

During MASTERS VERNISSAGE, the prologue to MASTERS EXPO, there was a motley crew at THE CAPTAINS LUNCH at Hotel Okura Amsterdam's Serre restaurant. The entrepreneurs, prominent figures and BN'rs present all had 1 thing in common: they have been guests in Yves Gijrath's podcast on The Captivating Line. While enjoying delicious food and a spoken word by Yves, the great stories at the table soon came out.Text: Fleur de Jong

In good company

Prior to lunch, guests immediately struck up animated conversation on the terrace. After drinks, everyone went to the table. During the welcome speech, Yves dedicated the lunch to Peter R. de Vries, who has been a guest of his in 2019. There was also attention for podcast guest John van den Heuvel, who could not be present due to developments regarding Peter R. De Vries.

The first dishes were served and glasses were raised to a wonderful gathering full of Excellencers. After the main course, attendees were treated to a spoken word by Yves, which consisted of special quotes from podcast conversations of several guests in attendance.

Some of the captains who attended THE CAPTAINS LUNCH: Fajah Laurens, Ali B, Roland Kahn, Henk de Vries, Jeroen van Koningsbrugge, Erik de Vlieger, Paul Riemens, Thomas Acda, Leon de Winter, Micky Hoogendijk, Benno Leeser and Won Yip.

The 3-course menu

Restaurant Serre of Hotel Okura Amsterdam provided the delicious dishes. As an appetizer, guests received a salmon miso of Soba noodles, shiitake and gomasio. This was followed by a flat iron steak with puffed shallot cream, young beans and long pepper gravy. And for those who still had a gap left for dessert after all this deliciousness, a Tartelette of pistachio, strawberries and tarragon was on the menu.
