Trends are fleeting. I believe in style. A style stays, is timeless and you develop it so that it becomes more and more "you. Therefore, I have renamed the word 'trend tips' to 'style tips' and would like to give you the three most valuable style tips to give your home the perfect touch your home the perfect touch!"

Dare and think big!

"The best tip I can give when it comes to interior design is: dare! We often get enthusiastic responses to our projects, especially the bold out-of-the-box designs. What we often hear is: 'Super cool, but not for my home. And that's an interesting comment that always piques my curiosity. Why not for your home? Surpass yourself and try that color that you find beautiful, but also a bit exciting.

In addition, for an interior, it is important to think big, both in terms of what is realizable and in furniture and objects. People tend to put more small elements together. This is a waste. By putting one large sofa in your living room, for example, you actually create space and tranquility."

Use natural shapes, colors and materials

"We at Studio Mariska Jagt love natural shapes, colors and materials and especially in combination with each other. This makes an interior interesting, refined and sophisticated. Think of colors in a soft color palette like white and brown and an aged blue, green and ochre. Materials I prefer are combinations of concrete, wood, steel, linen and natural stone."

Create a style concept

"The most frequently asked question is, 'How do I get unity in my home?' People tend to approach all the components in the home separately. For example, most people choose the kitchen and bathroom first, and once that's checked off the list, they start thinking about the rest. A shame, because then you started without a well-thought-out plan and lose unity. So start with a style concept, a mood board that encompasses your perfect style. Then use that mood board as a guide for the rest of your interior to test whether what you've come up with fits within your concept. That's how you get your designer dream home.

Of course, I have many more tips, but I'd be happy to share them with you next time."
