Rolling art show in Amsterdam

From June 3 to 6, another Rolling Art Show will take place at Loods 6 on KNSM Island. For four days, a select group of artists and photographers will display their best and most recent work to a wide art-loving audience.Text: Mical Joseph

Different than different

A Rolling Art Show focuses on creating a rich, post-museum experience of modern art. All the art - with a wide selection of paintings, photography and sculptures - is presented in an orderly fashion in Shed 6.

Visitors here will have every opportunity to enjoy the art exhibited. Art that is mostly presented by the artists themselves. This gives visitors every opportunity to engage in conversation with the artists themselves. For example, about their inspirations, the context of their art and their way of working.Govert de Roos

Encouraging new talent

The Rolling Art Shows aim not only to host art events but also to encourage talented artists. Take Frédérique Spigt. Once she graduated from art school, she became best known as a singer. During the corona period, she picked up her paints and brushes again. In a relatively short time she managed to develop a very own powerful and colorful style of painting. Especially for this event she created ten special paintings.

Another discovery is the young Ukrainian artist Nathalia Olhova who, after fleeing from Crimea, currently lives and works in the Netherlands. Under her pseudonym Sunflower, she creates colorful and mostly abstract paintings in a - according to herself - "emotional and esoteric style." In addition to the impressive work of this promising artist, during this exhibition you can also become acquainted with the dual works of art by painter Aron Kroes and photographer Merette Uiterwaard.Samira el Bali

Art driven by Music

Co-initiator Rep Ringel shows his completely abstract art on canvases of imposing size. Raw and monumental works that are always inspired by special music tracks (Art driven by music). Music is anyway an important source of inspiration for artists featured during this event. Here you can become acquainted with the completely unique painting style of musician and actor Hans Dagelet. Also on display are paintings by Herman Brood. Brood remains topical, even 22 years after his death. His work also appears to be a source of inspiration for the new batch of artists such as Milan the Artist, Djor and Tostiej.

Work of top photographers

In addition to painting, portrait photography is represented by well-known top photographers such as Patricia Steur, Govert de Roos, Ron Tetteroo.
