750 tons of water per minute

With James Bond stunt driver Jessica Hawkins behind the wheel, the New Range Rover Sport drives up the steep spillway of the Karahnjukar dam in Iceland, the largest of its kind in the world. In this daring ascent, the car resists the water flowing down at 750 tons (!) per minute. If grip was lost, a life-threatening 90-meter fall would have awaited the stunt driver....

Fortunately, this was not the case, as during the climb the New Range Rover Sport demonstrated its qualities of grip, traction, performance and control. The action produced some spectacular images.

Prime

A first for the new Range Rover is Dynamic Air Suspension, which for the first time features adjustable-volume air suspension. The system allegedly improves the performance of the suspension by adjusting the pressure within the air chambers. In this way, traditional comfort is combined with the dynamic handling of the Range Rover Sport. For optimal response, the system evaluates the road surface using eHorizon navigation data to preemptively prepare the air suspension for cornering.

The range of powerful and efficient engines includes two six-cylinder Electric Hybrid plug-in hybrids with an all-electric range of up to 113 km. The new 390 kW (530 hp) powerful V8 Twin Turbo gasoline engine provides a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds with Dynamic Launch enabled. A powerful and efficient mild hybrid Ingenium diesel engine can also be chosen. Land Rover also announced that full electric drive will be available in 2024.

The new version's Adaptive Offroad Cruise Control helps the driver navigate difficult terrain. The system ensures even progress over the surface. There are four comfort settings, based on which the system adjusts speed. Useful if you also ever decide to drive up a dam...The New Range Rover Sport can now be configured here.
