Pride Amsterdam 2022: here's what to do in the city

From July 30 to August 7, the rainbow runner will be rolled out in Amsterdam for the annual Pride Week. This year's theme: My Gender, My Pride. A week of protest, but also of connection, meeting and celebration. This is among other things to experience in the city during Pride Amsterdam 2022.Text: Patrick Stoffer

July 30: Pride Walk

Pride Amsterdam traditionally kicks off with the Pride Walk; a demonstration for equal rights for the LGBTQIA+ community. The walk starts at noon from Dam Square and goes along the Rokin, Vijzelstraat, Weteringschans, Stadhouderskade and ends in the Vondelpark.Photo: Andy Onderstal

Aug. 3 & 4: Open Air Cinema, Mercatorplein

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, 400 seats are available on Mercator Square to watch various films during the Pink Film Nights.

Aug. 5: Pride Cocktail @ The Grand

After a two-year absence, the annual Pride Cocktail at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam is back! On Friday, August 5, The Grand's courtyard will be completely transformed into a colorful place where a diversity of artists will perform.

August 5 & 6: Amstelveld Pride

Once again this year, the Amstelveld will be the arena of celebration. If it is up to the City of Amsterdam, this year will be the last time the Amstelveld will be festive during Pride Week. All the more reason to dance, meet people and create memories here. On Friday, the grand Friday afternoon drink HeBiHo VrijMiBo 2022 will take place here and on Saturday Our Love.

August 6: Canal Pride

A celebration of stature: the world-famous boat parade. Something not to be missed during Pride Week. Stroll along the canals and watch the great diversity of boats passing by. August 7: Closing Party

If you're among the diehards who just can't get enough, there's the Closing Party on Dam Square. During the Closing Party, several artists will bring Pride Amsterdam 2022 to a sparkling close.
