In New York very common, now also in Amstelveen

Construction is progressing and a large number of luxury apartments, penthouses and villas have been sold and completed. Living in The Mayor stands for un-Dutch living comfort in Amstelveen. For say it yourself: a concierge to receive your groceries and packages, a cab service, a private parking box in the secure garage, an indoor gym and a cozy coffee corner... Living in The Mayor is a life full of luxury.
The Mayor

So although the sale and renovation of The Mayor is in full swing, the first residents have now attached the Mayor key to their keychain. One of them is Lucas Hoogduin and Addy Onstwedder. During a walk through their beloved Amsterdam, they explain why they traded downtown for The Mayor.

"In 2016, we bought some in the heart of Amsterdam. A pied Ă  terre, because for a period of 17 years we lived in Ney York City and Berlin. Now we are back and experiencing how busy Amsterdam has become. Our move to Amstelveen has everything to do with that. During the day it's not too bad, but in the evening and at night we find it too busy. Soon we will be living in a quiet place and we will seek out the hustle and bustle when we feel like it. It doesn't take long to get there, which is nice, because Amsterdam will always be our home."

"The Mayor gives me that New York City feeling all over again."

Former workplace

Through a broker friend, the couple was pointed to The Mayor. At first, Addy says, enthusiasm did not shine through. "Living in a former office building on the A9, that didn't warm us up immediately. Until we walked around here. We were immediately sold. It is a wonderful initiative to renovate the old KPMG office in such a way. And in New York Style. That really appeals to us. Nice detail is that we both worked here."

Why The Mayor

"We chose The Mayor mainly because of the space and the good level of finish. The sustainability was also important to us. Probably our energy bill will be a lot lower. Soon we will live very close to the Amsterdamse Bos - nice for us and the dog and the arterial roads. No more going through the whole city before you get to the highway. Ideal."

Doorman, Gym & Coffee-Corner

Lucas and Addy also consider a great advantage the way the design pays attention to residents' privacy: "In our case, we arrive by car in the parking garage and then take the elevator directly to our apartment," Lucas says. Addy complements him: "And don't forget the presence of the Doorman, Gym and Coffee-corner, the height in the apartment and the wonderful light. The Mayor gives me that New York City feeling all over again. I can't wait."
