New kid Loes Daniels: selling in more than 50 countries

The 32-year-old Loes Daniels started entrepreneurship in 2014. Meanwhile, the world is literally at her feet thanks to her company Experiencegift. This has grown into a company with online outlets in no less than 50 countries. Besides conquering points of sale in these countries, Loes also won a spot in the 'Quote top 100 self-made millionaires' with Experiencegift. No lack of ambition, because together with her team this New Kid wants to become the largest gift card company in the world.Text: Fleur de JongDon't want to arrive that one birthday with a standard bottle of wine again? Loes came up with Experiencegift, a company that makes it possible to give someone a beautiful travel experience as a gift. Loes' company now consists of 3 labels: Hotelgift, Flightgift and Activitygift. Here you can choose from 270,000 hotels worldwide, flights from all major airlines and activities at more than 680 global destinations. New Kid Loes' motto is focus. The focus for the next two years? To become the largest gift card company in the world and to reach €100 million in sales within the next two years.

What is your personal USP?

"I am, like most entrepreneurs, a hard worker and go-getter. I think my USP within the company is that I can think big, but at the same time translate this well into a concrete plan to actually execute it. In this I can keep a good overview and get the different teams involved in the vision and execution."

What can the older generation of entrepreneurs learn from you?

"On the one hand staying innovative, but perhaps also daring and continuing to think big. In my view, as a company you have to keep innovating and keep improving in order to grow. Today's (online) world moves so fast, not innovating is going backwards."

Who is your teacher or inspiration in the entrepreneurial field?

"During the different phases of our business, these have been different sources of inpspiration. During the start-up, I was looking for more tips & trips to go into business, the motivation, but also the practical issues involved. Now I am looking more for growth strategies, success stories and for example leadership examples. At each stage, these are different sparring partners and people who inspire me. My partner, Jorik Schröder, has always been, and still is, a constant factor and sparring partner in this.''

What is your motto or quote?

"FocusDare to say no, because as soon as you do things halfway, nothing will come of it. Work always comes first.''

What is the biggest entrepreneurial risk you have taken so far?

"Launching Flightgift in 2017. We had not done any market research and spent almost two years developing the website and booking system. We went live just before the Christmas period, our busiest period, and fortunately it went well right away. We worked through the first period nights to successfully process the first bookings and further optimize the system. Fortunately everything went well, but for the same money there was no market for it and the investment was for nothing. For future concepts, we will examine this more closely."

Where will you be in 3 years?
