MASTERS STORIES

Most expensive ports in Europe

Before you decide to moor at one of Europe's fashionable marinas this summer, you might want to take a look at the following list. MASTERS lists a number of locations where you will have to dig deep into your wallet to park your superyacht for a day.

5. Marina di Portofino | Portofino

With only 14 superyacht berths and a daily mooring fee of 2.398, Marina di Portofino is one of the most exclusive marinas in the world. The original small fishing village, with a protected bay and green water, has now grown into the ultimate playground for the jet set. Welcome guests here are Steven Spielberg, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Rihanna. Kourtney Kardashian also chose the picturesque setting of Portofino for her wedding.

4. Marina Grande | Capri

Capri's marina is hidden among cliffs, five-star hotels and colorful buildings. However, it is not easy to get a spot for your boat here. You have to make a reservation several months in advance. When paying for your berth in Marina Grande you can receive a receipt Expect 3.000. On the other hand, you may encounter celebrities such as Jay Z and George Clooney on the scaffolding.

3. Porto Cervo | Sardinia

In the 60s, the Arab prince Karim Aga Kahn IV was moved by the beauty of the stretch of coast. That is why he decided to create a true paradise for tourists. Porto Cervo now forms the heart of the Costa Smeralda and is the holiday destination par excellence for the international jet set. This also applies to the marina. This offers space for sixty yachts. Mooring fee is small 3.176 per day.

2. Marina Port Ibiza | Ibiza

You can enjoy a week in a good hotel or spend a day in this marina. It doesn't make much difference in terms of price. Mooring in this small, romantic harbor costs €4.084. Including sailor service to give you a helping hand during mooring.

1. Puerto Banus | Marbella

This marina was invented by José Banús in the 60s, about seven kilometers from Marbella. He was looking for something that would help Marbella develop economically and touristically. The opening was celebrated on a grand scale, with guests including the King of Spain and Hugh Hefner present. José's plan seems to have succeeded, because the marina has become one of the most famous - and most expensive - in the world. This is where you are  € 4.289 per day to tie a 55 meter long yacht to the quay.
