According to Forbes' World's Billionaires List, there are 2,640 billionaires walking around this world. The American business magazine presented a list of 11 countries, which are teeming with them. Almost a quarter of all the billionaires that our world is rich are in these cities. Together they account for a pront wealth of € 2.6 trillion. These five countries head the list....

5. London (63 billionaires)

In the English city across the sea, 63 Londoners may call themselves billionaires this year, down slightly from last year when the city had 66 billionaires and filled the fourth spot. All billionaires combined have an estimated wealth of €269 billion. The richest resident is Len Blavatnik with €29.2 billion in the bank.

4. Shanghai (65 billionaires)

Shanghai has 65 billionaires living in city, plus four compared to 2022. A total of €165.8 billion is involved in the billionaires' club with the leader being Colin Zheng Huang (€27.5 billion). By the way, Zheng Huaing is the third biggest riser on the Forbes list, after his fortune increased by €17.3 billion due to a significant doubling of his shares.

3. Beijing (68 billionaires)

China's capital has continued to shed billionaires at a higher rate than any other city, tumbling from No. 1 in 2021 to No. 2 in 2022 and now finishing in third place. Beijing - or Beijing - has lost as many as 15 billionaires in one year, but still has a total of €225.3 billion in its billionaire coffers.

4. Hong Kong (70 billionaires)

Hong Kong climbed to second place this year, welcoming two billionaires as billionaires. The comeback was made thanks to two tycoons who have benefited from China's reopening and the increase in tourism: Zhao Tongtong, co-founder of hotel chain operator H World Group, and Lawrence Ho, CEO of casino operator Melco Resorts.

1. New York City (101 billionaires)

The great leader of the list is New York. The American city was consistently ranked No. 1 for seven years, but was briefly knocked off the throne by Beijing in 2021. In 2022, the city claimed back its spot and is once again the front-runner this year. Despite losing six billionaires, The Big Apple still houses 101 billionaires this year. Consequently, New York is at once the richest billionaire city; more than €190 billion richer than Paris which comes in second place in terms of total wealth of billionaire residents. Almost a quarter of the wealth is held by the richest resident, entrepreneur and former NY mayor Michael Bloomberg (€86 billion) and the second richest, philanthropist and socialite Julia Koch (€54 billion).

After London, Moscow (61), Mumbai (56), Shenzhen (54), Singapore (46), Delhi (37) and San Francisco (37) complete the list.
