MASTERPIECES by MASTERS EXPO exhibitor Reginald Kruger

Reginald Kruger creates works of art on aluminum with airbrush. As a young boy, the artist fell in love with the Porsche 911, as a kind of muse he now creates artworks of Porsches, as well as Lamborghinis, Bugattis and many other exclusive brands. Animals, women and boats can also be found in Reginald's work. Besides airbrush, the artist uses gold leaf and acrylic paint, when light shines on the artworks you experience a true 3D experience....

Miura! | On aluminum with airbrush 2018

"For this artwork, I used more than 200 photos to give 3D effects to the final result on aluminum. Each car artwork starts with a photo shoot, which can be done at the client's home or at a photo studio near the client. During this photo shoot, I took more than 200 photos, each with different lighting. On my computer, I then stack all those photos to create a true 3D image, where all the details of the car shine in the artwork. After stacking the photos, I applied this artwork to the aluminum and finished it with airbrush, using more than 1,000 shapes and masks. This way of working is very laborious, I spent about 250 hours working on it. Because of the inks on the aluminum, the end result has a metallic finish. When you stand in front of this artwork, it's as if you can touch the Lamborghini, that's how hyper-realistic the artwork is."

Be Careful what you wish for! | Airbrush on aluminum 2019

"For this artwork, I used more than 400 photos to give 3D effects to the final result on aluminum. I had been walking around with the idea of creating this artwork for a while. First I made sketches of this with pen on paper. At the IAMS Amsterdam I got into conversation with the people from VDM and got the opportunity to photograph this Bugatti Chiron in Gronau, 20 km from my studio. The owner owns this exclusive Bugatti Chiron worth €4.2 million, with an interior custom-made by Hermès worth €750,000. But for him, this was not enough. He dreamed of a private jet and his wife of the Hermès Berkin Bag in the orange color to match the interior of his Bugatti. But I am sure that within two seconds, the only one who survives this is the black panther with the diamonds around its neck... Hence the title: 'Be Careful What You Wish For'. I also applied this artwork to aluminum and finished it with airbrush. I estimate that I spent a total of 350 hours working on this. Because of the inks on the aluminum, the end result has a metallic finish. If you stand in front of this artwork, it seems as if you can touch the interior of the Bugatti, that is how hyper-realistic the artwork is. In addition to these free works, I also create custom artworks featuring the client's car."

Long Blond Animal | On aluminum with airbrush 2020

"All the texts of this artwork were first written with Acrylic paint after which I made masks out of them. After all the preparations, I applied this artwork on the aluminum and finished it with airbrush. Through the play of light, this 'blonde beauty' really seems to emerge from the artwork. I spent about 150 hours working on this artwork."
