The best restaurants in the Netherlands

Lekker500

First, the restaurant guide's editor-in-chief mentions that, thanks to a remarkable time-isolation, inflation, corona, high energy tariffs and staff shortages-among other things, the hospitality industry has made many sacrifices over the past three years. But that they are pleased to see a return of vibrancy in the hospitality industry and an increasing return to hospitality.

Top 10

Jonnie and Thérèse Boer are once again in first place of the Lekker500. The culinary couple from Zwolle has been at the absolute top for over 30 years with the iconic restaurant De Librije. The love for each other and for the hospitality business drives them to the extreme.

The gourmet Pure C rose to number four this year. According to Lekker, top chef Syrco Bakker continues to refine and they tasted supreme balance in his dishes.

De Lindehof in Nuenen retains a stunning spot six in the guide. Since he was seventeen years old, the intrepid Soenil Bahadoer has been leading an uncommon cuisine with which he broke through to the top of Dutch gastronomy. Soenil's cooking style is characterized by accents from Surinamese cuisine. According to Lekker, his Hindustan-Mediterranean dishes excel in creativity and a highly refined flavor balance.

Sidney Schutte cooks the stars from heaven in the basement of the renowned Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Spectrum rises one place this year and is in a nice spot seven in the restaurant guide.

With his Rotterdam hospitality and quirky, creative cuisine, chef Fred Mustert rises to place nine with his eponymous restaurant Fred. The chef is known for his fabulous, beautiful dishes on a classic basis with high-quality and rich ingredients.

Young Limburger Bas van Kranen comes in at place ten with restaurant Flore. The young Limburger moved to Amsterdam and succeeded Richard van Oostenbrugge at then Bord'Eau and introduced his concept of conscious fine dining where sustainability, the use of local biodynamic seasonal products and pure taste are keywords.
