LAMBORGHINI: POLAR EXPEDITION

Even if you have to drive through winter conditions, you don't have to sacrifice style. This idea inspired the latest concept from car concept designer Abimelec Arellano. The concept is based on the Lamborghini Urus. "I actually wanted to create a super-luxurious polar expedition vehicle. "Online Editor: Natasha Hendriks

Badass

The Lamborghini Urus, is the absolute all round super sports car. It is perfect for rugged terrain. Although it is smaller than some other luxury SUVs, the Urus still looks good and has extra-large tires that are ready to drive in the snow.

Somehow, however, Arellano has managed to make the SUV even tougher. Made for cold polar expeditions, his custom Lamborghini Urus has fender extensions inspired by the LM002 and four ridiculously large custom wheels. Color-wise, it is inspired by the Countach and has a glossy red exterior, which is particularly striking against the white snow, along with a brown leather interior. The four-wheeler also has a roof rack that can hold all the essential equipment for off-road driving, including a couple of fuel cans and a spare tire in case you get a flat.

3.6 seconds

Under the hood, this car retains its original 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 that produces 650 hp and 627 ft lbs of torque. This means the super-SUV can still go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

Handling shouldn't be a problem, either. The Lamborghini Urus features six different driving modes (including one for snow) and an array of controls it inherited from the Aventador S, such as all-wheel steering, active damping and all-wheel drive. It also has some aerodynamic elements that come from the Huracán Performante.

In addition to the Lambo, Arellano also designed off-road versions of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga. You could say polar expedition autos have never looked better.
