CHRISTMAS DINNER WITH STARS - THE HOME EDITION

Christmas is almost here and this year we're staying home. But rest assured, there's no reason to settle for well-done steak or limp truffle fries. MASTERS selects three starred restaurants that have put together a delicious Christmas dinner box for the home.Text: Leonie Pamboer

La Provence, Driebergen

Star restaurant La Provence wants to spoil its guests with new surprising creations, taste explosions and top quality. Now that this is not (yet) possible in the restaurant, chef André van Alten has put together a fantastic caterer Christmas menu for at home. The 5-course menu is available December 24 to 27 - takeout on the same day - and consists of blissful dishes such as North Sea crab, eel with veal cheek, turbot, venison Wellington and a Christmas ball of white chocolate for dessert. The menu costs € 69.50 p.p. and can easily be expanded with matching wines, caviar, cheese board and/or friandises. Order via the site.

Noble, Den Bosch

Given the eventful year, star restaurant Noble feels it is even more important to celebrate beautiful moments with family, friends and loved ones. Therefore, Patron Cuisinier Edwin Kats & Chef de Cuisine Bart Klomp have carefully composed the @Home Christmas Experience. Between December 21 and 31 you can enjoy the 4-course Christmas menu consisting of hamachi, turbot with brie de meaux, entrecôte & veal stock and an elegant dessert of mandarin, rosemary and chocolate. Don't forget to order online before December 18. The cost is €65 p.p. and there are several extras to order such as a matching wine pairing or one of the signature dishes. There is also a culinary kids menu for the young gourmet .

Restaurant Fred, Rotterdam

Restaurant Fred received one star in 2010, followed by a second in 2014. Chef Fred Mustert's cooking style is based on classic French cuisine, but with its own no-nonsense twist. This Christmas, enjoy Restaurant Fred at home with the Experience Box, which allows you to prepare your own exclusive 4-course menu. The dishes are prepared as much as possible and through videos you will learn the finishing touches. This way you can experience "What it takes to become a Michelin star chef"! The menu includes lobster, scallop with truffle cream, roast venison back and Fred's famous tiramisu. The Christmas Experience Box is available between December 10 and 26, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The cost is €79 p.p. and the box can be combined with a wine, cheese or amuse box.
