FRAME X BOLON: DESIGN CHALLENGE

"During Dutch Design Week 2019, 'Apparellel Existence' is the result of a design challenge by Frame Magazine X BOLON. They challenged Dutch creatives to create an immersive experience based on the idea of hyper-personalization. The winning augmented reality concept by fashion collective Studio PMS invited visitors to explore their fashion collection mixed with Bolon's latest flooring collection 'Diversity' through an app.

We, Attach Studio, created an exhibition composed of different islands and surfaces that together form an organic and abstract landscape. This creates an open structure in which multiple intuitive routes emerge. This leaves visitors free to explore the exhibition in their own way. The soft color tones complement the digital fashion collection, and are derived from Bolon's Diversity collection.

Within the physical landscape, a digital layer is added through augmented reality. Visitors are invited to select one of three unique digital environments within an app. As they wander through the physical space dressed in Bolon materials, visitors can reveal the digital outfits by scanning a QR code. The seemingly empty landscape combined with the movement of the visitors, triggered bystanders to interact. "Photo: Ewout Huibers | Copyright: Frame Magazine

The Blue Cabinet

"This project began with our love of the shelving unit. What intrigues us about this is the simplicity of structure, repetition and clarity. Most people have one in their home, but it often fulfills purely the function of storage or even concealment. The Blue Cabinet is designed to be placed in the home as an interior object in its own right. With its open construction and fine lines, this shelving unit has a subtle and timeless look. It is the ideal place to give your collectibles just the right spot in your home and add a personal layer to your interior. The steel elements attach blindly to the wall and provide support for the color-accented wooden shelves. This color accent blurs the boundary between the materials and gives the whole a graphic look. In addition to the standard model, the Blue Cabinet is also available for re-design as a custom size and color. "Photo: Milou Cornax

Eastwind Coffee

"This special project is a result of the collaboration between Pure C** chef Syrco Bakker and Rob Clarijs (The Zeeland Branding & Winner of Coffee Masters London 2019). In "Oostenwind," Syrco Bakker's Indonesian roots merge with Rob Clarijs' Zeeland roots. It is a coffee where provenance is essential. It was imported by Rob himself, from the processing station directly to the roastery, without middlemen: fair chain. To show off this unique coffee to its best advantage, an average mug or cup is obviously not enough. That requires special tableware. We were commissioned to improve the drinking experience while maintaining optimal taste. The coffee is very hot after serving and its taste suffers when it stays too hot for too long. By giving the thin-walled porcelain cup a concentric shape, it ensures that the coffee cools down faster so that the taste remains optimal. In addition to the limited retail edition, the coffee will be served in combination with the cups in Pure C. "Photo: Joey RietveldJorn van Stein | Photo: Milou Cornax
