This place is also called The stylish heart of Maastricht called The stylish heart of Maastricht; it is one of the most luxurious and exclusive shopping streets in the Netherlands. But besides the many famous brands, you will also find the most beautiful boutiques with clothes, jewelry, flowers, cozy squares and fine wine bars where craftsmanship is highly valued. The Stokstraat is the main street in the Stokstraat Quarter. This street is known for its historic appearance, there are no fewer than 43 national monuments here.

Kruisheren Hotel Maastricht

The Kruisherenhotel lends itself excellently to a royal overnight stay. The 5-star rated hotel is located in a former 15th-century Kruisheren monastery. Together with the monumental Gothic church, the building has been transformed into a design hotel. The interior design is a creation of interior designer Henk Vos in collaboration with international designers such as Ingo Maurer and Philip Starck. Although it is almost a waste to leave this hotel, you can always decide to have a drink in the evening at the Vrijthof, which is a five-minute walk away.

Dominican Bookstore 

This bookstore has rightly been named one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, housed in a completely intact old church full of wall and ceiling paintings. Whether you like books or not, a visit to this extraordinary bookstore is definitely recommended. The Dominican Church is a Gothic church building and located near the Vrijthof. The church was built in the 13th century as a monastery church, but since 2007 this national monumental building has housed a bookstore.
