This is where you celebrate freedom

Although tributes are paid to the victims today, tomorrow, May 5, the Netherlands is all about celebrating freedom. Hang out somewhere after work or looking for some inspiration for the whole day; there are plenty of festivities being organized.

Liberation meals

All over the country, not only festivals, but also so-called Freedom Meals are organized on May 5. This way, while enjoying a small snack, drink, a culinary delight or a local specialty, you can engage in a dialogue about freedom. Wondering where you can join or want to organize one yourself last minute? Check out the overview here.

Amsterdam alliance

The Amsterdam Alliance also returns on May 5. On the historic ground of the Olympic Stadium, dancing under the flag of Amsterdam will toast freedom. Yade Lauren, Ronnie, Flex and DJs like Michel de Hey and Julien Zaal with Daan de Greef will make their appearance.

Dance4Liberation

Antoon, Flemming, Frenna, Brennan Heart, D-Block & S-Te-Fan, Bilal Wahib, Freddy Moreira, Cynthia Spiering, BRECC, D-Sturb. Divided over no less than three areas, over 35 artists will perform in Zwolle on May 5.

Liberation Festival

On May 5, there are 14 national Liberation Festivals in the Netherlands: each province has its own festival. The festivals are connected by the National Committee May 4 and 5. Together with Zwolle, Haarlem is the largest Liberation Festival in our country. Haarlem is also the oldest festival in the list. Wondering where in the province these festivals take place?
