Glamping: bivouacking in nature with the luxury of a hotel

Last week it was announced that the Netherlands has added one million campers. Camping has been completely rediscovered by many. For those who prefer not to walk around the campsite with a toilet roll under their arm, the phenomenon of glamping; a combination of glamour and camping. Mirrorcube | Sweden

Hidden in the middle of the Swedish forests is Mirrorcube. Designed by architects Bolle Tham and Martin Videgård. Excellent for literally making yourself invisible and retreating into nature. The cube is surrounded by mirror walls so that the 4x4x4 meter space completely blends into its surroundings. The first house is 500 meters away and the cube is 12 meters high. So you have to climb a bit on the rope ladder to reach your king-size bed. Inside the cube there is room for two people; there is a balcony a toilet, seating areas a sustainable water system to wash your hands.

Longitude 131˚ | Australia

Overlooking Uluru and in the middle of the Australian desert is Longitude 131˚. The camp in the middle of the wilderness consists of 16 luxury tents, each offering a glamorous base. The custom furnishings in the tents, are designed by Australian designers, complemented by works by local and indigenous artists. The large windows at the end of the bed allow you to enjoy all the beauty of the outback and the view of one of Australia's most famous landmarks; Uluru. The southern skies with cool, clear nights and the absence of light from nearby cities make for a stargazer's paradise. And although you might expect it in the middle of the desert, the camp offers a spa and you can enjoy a culinary dinner under the stars.

Canonici Di San Marco | Venice

Just 20 minutes from Venice are the lodges of the Italian Canonici Di San Marco. This exclusive resort offers an oasis of tranquility where you can surround yourself with nature without giving up comfort. With passion for nature, refined interiors, but the unconventional love of travel, this very first glamping in Italy has been designed. The cabinets, the inlaid headboard of the bed and the wooden fossilized sink of 10,000 years old, natural wood is at the center of the lodge. You wake up overlooking the private garden where the mulberry trees in the century-old orchard offer breathtaking views.
