This Saturday is World Gin Day. Since 2009, a tribute has been paid to the popular drink every year on the second Saturday of June. To celebrate, MASTERS is tipping five bars where you can have a tasty gin tonic.Text: Patrick Stoffer

Mossel & Gin, Amsterdam
The name really says it all; this bar/restaurant is the place to go for mussels and, of course, gin-tonics. Mossel & Gin is located on the Westergasfabriek grounds, where quite a few gin tonics are served over the bar. If you also want a bite to eat right away, in addition to mussels, you have a choice of various seafood dishes, such as oysters, fish & chips and shrimp croquettes. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians, such as oyster mushroom satay and vegan tartare.
Mr. Finch, Utrecht
Stroll along the canals and have a gin-tonic poured at Mr. Finch's. And want to top it off at home? Become a pro at shaking cocktails yourself and take a cocktail workshop at this bar.
Bar TwentySeven, Amsterdam
Bar TwentySeven is a bar where the impossible is made possible. Be seduced by gin tonics and other cocktails with innovative creations and take a seat in the elegant design. A visit to this bar is an experience in itself. And also chances are that you will bump into Dutch YouTuber Kwebbelkop here.
Mr. Mofongo, Groningen
This bar in the North is a true household name. Mr. Mofongo was first named Best Cocktail Bar in the Netherlands and offers a variety of gin tonics and other cocktails. And that's not all. The bar is served not only by bartenders, but also by a robot. A robotic arm taps the right drinks into the eight-meter high cabinet behind the bar stands, which are distilled one floor up. Everything under one roof, in other words.
Mr. Smith, Maastricht
Coincidentally, this bar also begins with "Mr.". The stylish decor allows you to escape the daily hectic for a while. The wooden bar looks like a theater and the intimate atmosphere creates a lot of coziness.
