FIGO MOBILITY'S ONLY WAY IS UP

This week, the startup that is doing away with the co-payment slur by accessing the best sharing services with ease through an app, FIGO Mobility.Text: Patrick Stoffer

This has to be possible in a more efficient way, thought Joost Pompe, Basri Hoogstrate and Jurgen Buisman. After putting their heads together, the Figo Mobility shared mobility app was born in June 2019, giving both business and private users access to the best shared transportation via an app. The problem of only one user per lease car is completely off the table here. MASTERS asked co-founder Joost Pompe about the success of this flexible mobility solution.

''Currently, we offer business users of companies like YoungCapital nationwide access to the best sharing services. We partner with Check, Felyx, Mywheels and ShareNow, among others. With national coverage of sharing services and cooperation with leasing companies, we are about to provide transportation to consulting firms and real estate projects.''

Best tip you've had?

''You have to spend a dime to earn a guilder.''

Why do you think FIGO Mobility is so successful?

''Successful is a broad term, although we have satisfied users as the main indicator of our success. Without affordable transportation, your world is much smaller and therefore less fun. However, the proliferation of new sharing services and the growth in demand for them has made it more difficult for users. You do want to make sure you don't miss out. With the merging of the best sharing services, business is also suddenly in high demand. After all, who wants to sign up for a lease car for five years?''

What company/service would you have liked to think of yourself?

''Stripe, Adyen or Mollie.''

What would you do with 1 million?

''With a million, we would expand the internal development & sales team to grow even faster and achieve better results.''

What bids have there been for your company?

''Several talks are ongoing and the competition is watching us closely. Parties such as NS, Pon and Autobinck have already been discussed. Although with twelve extra months we can really show our value.''

Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

Right now we operate only in the Netherlands, but by 2026 we will be European or acquired.
