ExperienceTravel organizes golf safari through South Africa

The dining car, where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, is erected in Victorian style. After an initial overnight stay in Johannesburg, you board the Rovos Rail, move into an elegant suite and the journey can begin. The next ten days are devoted to playing golf on the finest courses - no less than five different ones - in South Africa, spotting wildlife during game drives and enjoying wine tastings and sublime dishes freshly prepared for you on board. Phinda Mountain Lodge

Halfway through the journey, the train is stopped for a short stay at the private reserve Phinda Mountain Lodge. This resort is home to seven different ecosystems as well as the entire Big Five. As a guest, you will enjoy game drives, panoramic views, sublime dining and a private veranda with Plunge Pool.

Big Five golf courses

Besides possibly spotting the Big Five of the animal kingdom, this trip features another Big Five. For you will enter five of the country's most prestigious golf courses, including Gary Player/Lost City Golf Course, Champage Sports, Durban Country Club, Leopard Creek and Highland Gate.
